Water Treadmill

We are a premium equine facility based in the North West of England. Adding to our first class facilities, Crow Wood Equestrian have recently introduced a top of the range Aqua Equine Treadmill. The Water Treadmill can be used during the rehabilitation process from an injury or as a fitness tool. Rehab patients may begin with less intense sessions and work up to longer periods of time, vet consultation is a necessity. Fitness sessions will be bespoke and tailored to your horse and with regular use, session intensity and length can be increased along with water depth and treadmill speed.

TheraPlate

Crow Wood Equestrian has added to their extensive rehabilitation facilities by introducing a TheraPlate. With its Active proprietary Vortex Wave Circulation Stimulation Technology, the Theraplate can speed up healing in half the time, help with injury prevention and reduced the cause of most pain.

Massage Pad

The Massage Pad can be used before and after Treadmill sessions or TheraPlate sessions and during the time the Arc Equine device can be on. The Massage Pad is clinically proven to increase back flexibility and promote relaxation. This is a brilliant tool which can be used on horses in full work or box rest.

Arc Equine

The Arc Equine and its microcurrent technology are available for liveries or to hire externally. It is a non-invasive, drug-free, tissue repair and pain management device which promotes the production of ATP. ATP is responsible for the flow of nutrients around the body and can help kickstart and accelerate the body’s own recovery.

Copper & The Water Treadmill

We started Copper on the treadmill as after having extensive surgery on both her stifles 12 months before, she was still very weak behind and she was tripping when being ridden, also she found it difficult to collect in canter because she had to use her hind legs in a different way to she was used to. As a result of this, we were reluctant to start show jumping her again.

The first time we brought her to Crow Wood she could only cope with four minutes at fetlock level , she found it very difficult to keep in a straight line. So we took her daily at first then built her up over four months, now she goes every other week at knee level in the water, coping with 17 minutes.

The difference in her is remarkable, she does not trip in canter, so I am able to have a collected canter round a course of show jumps. Also she has built muscle up in all the correct places as she is now using herself properly. Vicky and the girls have been very helpful and supportive throughout, putting Copper on the right programme to suit her creating great results. Copper is back out at shows now, getting placed at our first competition. Can’t thank Vicky and the team enough, I would highly recommend the Treadmill.

Thank you
